– Buttermilk Pancake– 2 cups all-purpose flour– 3 tablespoons granulated sugar– 2 teaspoons baking powder– 1 teaspoon baking soda– 2 large egg– 4 tablespoons salted butter melted– 3 cups buttermilk– Buttermilk Syrup– 1 cup granulated sugar– 1 cup buttermilk– 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract– ½ teaspoon baking soda

Make pancakesMix flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl. Whisk with wire. Mix eggs, melted butter, and buttermilk in a smaller basin.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix them together slowly with a spoon or spatula until there are no more flour pockets.

Pour each pancake onto a 350° griddle using a ⅛ cup measuring cup. You can also use a cooking pan on the stove over medium-high heat.

Once the pancake has bubbles, flip it and cook the second side for a few minutes till softly golden brown. A teaspoon of buttermilk syrup and butter on each pancake are optional.

Make Buttermilk SyrupAdd sugar, buttermilk, and butter to a large saucepan or soup pot over medium-high heat. Cook for 5-7 minutes, whisking occasionally, until it boils.

Turn down the heat to low and add the baking soda and vanilla extract once the mixture starts to boil. Use a whisk to mix everything together. Serve right away on top of buttermilk pancakes.
