Easy Homemade Caramel Corn Recipe


Here is a recipe for Easy Homemade Caramel Corn, which is a sweet and crunchy treat that everyone loves.  


– Cooking spray – 1/4 cup vegetable oil – 3/4 cup unpopped popcorn – 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter – 2 cups packed light brown sugar – 1/2 cup light corn syrup – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda



Pre-heat the oven to 250ºF. Prepare two baking sheets with cooking spray. Add vegetable oil to a large stockpot over medium heat.  


Step 1

Cover the popcorn in the pot. After the first kernel pops, remove the pot from heat for one minute. Shake the covered pot over the flame until all kernels pop. Throw away unpopped kernels.  


Step 2

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Stir the mixture frequently until it boils, then let it cook for 4 minutes.   


Step 3

Stir baking soda into caramel after removing it from heat. Cover the popcorn with caramel and mix immediately. Spread the coated popcorn evenly on the baking sheets.  


Step 4

Bake popcorn for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Before cooling, stir the caramel corn again after removing it from the oven. Serve it broken up.
