Tex Mex Sloppy Joes Recipe

Spiced ground beef, corn, and green peppers give Tex Mex Sloppy Joes a taco-like taste. Instead of making regular sloppy joes, try this tasty version that is based on tacos.   

– 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil – 1 yellow onion finely diced – 1 red bell pepper diced small – 1 lb ground beef – 3 garlic clove – 2 teaspoons chili powder – 1 teaspoon cumin – ½ teaspoon paprika – ½ teaspoon oregano – ½ teaspoon kosher salt – ¼ teaspoon black pepper – 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce – 1 can (15.25 oz) corn drained – 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilie – 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce – 1 tablespoon light brown sugar

Put the onion, bell pepper, and oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

Stir the vegetables around a lot for 4 to 5 minutes, or until they get soft. The ground beef should be added to the pan.

It's done when it's no longer pink. Remove any extra oil or water from the pan.

Chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper should all be added now. Mix things together well.

Cook for about 30 seconds, or until the food smells great. Add the corn, Worcestershire sauce, green peppers, tomato sauce, and brown sugar, and mix them in.

Step 5

After the mixture comes to a slow boil, turn down the heat to medium-low and let it cook for 15 minutes. Serve right away in toasted buns.
