Lemons have a lot of fibre, vitamin C, and other good plant chemicals. These nutrients are good for your health in many ways. In fact, lemons may be good for your heart, help you lose weight, and keep your gut system healthy. Here are six health perks of lemons that have been proven to work. 

1. Support Heart Health 

Lemons have vitamin C. One lemon has 31 mg of vitamin C, 51% of the daily need. Fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C lower heart disease and stroke risk.  Multiple heart-health benefits are attributed to this dish. Lemons may also considerably lower heart disease risk. Since they include fibre and plant chemicals. 

2. Help Control Weight

Lemons are recommended for weight loss for numerous reasons. Some say its soluble pectin fibre expands in your stomach, prolonging satisfaction. Few people eat whole lemons. Lemon juice lacks pectin, thus it doesn't fill you up. Another myth is that hot water with lemon aids weight loss. 

3. Prevent Kidney Stones

Kidney stones form from waste.They are common and recurring.  Citric acid reduces kidney stone formation by increasing urine volume and pH.Daily intake of 1/2 cup (4 ounces or 125 ml) of lemon juice with citric acid may prevent stone formation in sufferers.

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables may prevent some cancers.  High citrus fruit consumption may reduce cancer risk, while other observational studies have found no benefit.  Many lemon compounds kill test tube cancer cells. They may affect the body differently.

Lemons provide 10% carbs, mostly soluble fibre and simple sugars. The main fibre in lemons is pectin, a soluble fibre with health benefits. Soluble fibre aids digestion and slows glucose breakdown. Effects may reduce blood sugar.  For fibre, eat lemon pulp.
