This easy homemade Cranberry Orange Scones recipe is excellent for holidays or anytime! Scone with buttery cores, golden brown and flaky. Fresh orange zest, juice, cranberries, and a tasty glaze.
– Cranberry Orange Scone– 2 cups all-purpose flour– 1/2 cup granulated sugar– 2½ teaspoons baking powder– 2 tablespoons fresh orange zest– ½ teaspoon kosher salt– 1/2 cup (1 stick) FROZEN butter– 1/2 cup heavy cream– 1 large egg whisked– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract– 1 cup FROZEN halved cranberrie– Orange Glaze– 1 cup powdered sugar– 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Pre-heat the oven to 400℉. Put parchment paper on a baking pan.

Mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, orange zest, and salt in a large bowl.

Grind frozen butter with a box grater. Mix dry ingredients with shredded butter.

Make pea-sized crumbs by cutting butter into flour using a pastry cutter. Smoothly combine heavy cream, whisked big egg, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl.

Gently pour the liquid components into the dry ingredients (butter and flour). Add the halved frozen cranberries and whisk gently until a dough forms.

Shape it into an 8-inch thick, flat disc. Divide the disc into 8 wedges and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake till golden brown, 20–25 minutes. After 10 minutes on the heating baking sheet, transfer the scones to a cooling rack.

Blend powdered sugar and orange juice to make the glaze. Pour the orange glaze over each scone using a piping bag, sandwich bag with the tip cut off, or fork.
