Easy Vanilla Sugar Dusted Macaroon Trees Recipe

Vanilla sugar-dusted macaroon trees are easy to make and taste good. Making simple vanilla coconut macaroon cookies into Christmas trees with snow on top is a fun holiday treat. Making them is easy; just shape dough into trees and stack them on "trunks" of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  

– 5 large egg white – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract – 6 cups ( 8 ounces) shredded unsweetened coconut – 3/4 cup granulated sugar – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 4 ounces white chocolate, melted – 22 Reese's Peanut Butter Cup – 1/2-1 cup powdered sugar – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean powder

Heat the oven to 350°F. Parchment a baking sheet. Mix egg whites and vanilla in a big dish. Add coconut, sugar, and salt and blend well.

On the prepared baking sheet, form 2 tablespoons of dough into 2-inch trees. Make the top point using your hands and fingertips. Their imperfections make them cuter.

Bake until golden, 12-14 minutes. After 15 minutes on the baking sheet, gently release the trees with a spatula.

Step 3

Carefully dip each tree's bottom in melted white chocolate and return to the parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill until firm 10-20 minutes.

Step 4

Cover the bottom of each Reese's with a little white chocolate, then add the trees on top and hold for a few seconds. Again, chill 10-15 minutes until firm.

Step 5

Mix vanilla and powdered sugar. Dust vanilla sugar generously on each tree. Cookies can be made a week ahead.
