Hawaiian Sweet Roll French Toast Recipe

Use Hawaiian Sweet Roll unconventionally. Making French Toast with King's Hawaiian sweet buns instead of bread. A buttered frying pan bakes fluffy french toast with a sweet egg mixture to golden brown.  

– 12 Hawaiian Sweet Roll – 3 large eggs` – 1/2 cup half & half – 1 tablespoon granulated sugar – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – ¼ teaspoon nutmeg – ¼ teaspoon salt – 3 tablespoons butter

Place one Hawaiian roll on the side of a plate and cut it in half. 12 sweet rolls from Hawaii

With a whisk, mix the eggs, half-and-half, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl until everything is well mixed.

Melt butter in a large pan over medium-low heat. Dip the rolls one at a time in egg batter and turn them quickly (don't soak). Place the roll in the hot pan.

Step 3

Repeat with the remaining pieces or as many as fit in the skillet pan.

Step 4

Cook for 2-3 minutes each side and turn when golden brown.

Serve with syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries immediately.
