Quick Orange Chicken and Broccoli Recipe

You can beat takeout with this simple recipe for Quick Orange Chicken and Broccoli. It will be ready in 30 minutes or less.  

INGREDIENT

– 2 medium orange – 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce – 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar – 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar – 1/2 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes (optional) – 1 Tablespoon cornstarch – 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil – 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, diced – 1 Tablespoon minced garlic – 4 cups broccoli florets

INSTRUCTION

Zest and juice oranges. Mix ½ cup orange juice and 2 tablespoons orange zest in a medium bowl.

Step 1

Add soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, crushed red chili flakes (optional), and cornstarch to the bowl. Set aside the sauce after whisking.

Step 2

Add vegetable oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken to hot oil and cook for 4 minutes, tossing occasionally.

Step 3

Cook garlic for 2 minutes, stirring often. Cook the broccoli for 4 minutes, tossing regularly, until tender. Reduce cooking time to 1 minute if broccoli has been blanched.

Add the prepared sauce and cook for 5 minutes until thickened and syrupy. Serve with noodles or rice.
