Southern Style Chicken Salad Recipe

A classic, creamy, chunky Southern Chicken Salad with a wonderful dressing. Sweet pickle relish mayonnaise covers tender chicken, eggs, and celery.    

– 3 cups cooked chicken  – 3 hard-boiled eggs chopped – 1/2 cup finely diced celery – 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish – 1/2 cup mayonnaise – 1 tablespoon dijon mustard – 1 tablespoon lemon juice – 1 teaspoon paprika – Salt & black pepper

Put the cooked chicken and chopped hard-boiled eggs in a big bowl. To mix, stir together.

Include the celery and sweet pickle relish that have been coarsely diced. Combine by stirring.

Whisk the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until the ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Combine the chicken salad ingredients in a bowl, then drizzle with the dressing. Toss to coat.

Step 4

Refrigerate the chicken salad for at least half an hour, and no more than an hour or two, before serving to let the flavors meld.

You can cover it with plastic wrap or a lid. Put the buttery croissants, green lettuce, or crackers on top of the southern-style chicken salad (my recommendation!).
