Spicy Shrimp Tacos Recipe


A quick and easy recipe for Asian-style Spicy Shrimp Tacos will add a little heat to your meal.


– 1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp, shelled, deveined and tails removed – 1 Tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder – 1 medium orange, zested and juiced – 2 Tablespoons soy sauce – 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil – 1 Tablespoon minced garlic – 1 teaspoon chili flake – 1/2 cup sour cream – 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice – Tortillas, for serving – Thinly sliced radishes, for serving – Diced avocado, for serving



Mix the prawns with Chinese five-spice powder in a medium bowl until evenly covered. Stir in the orange juice, zest, soy sauce, vegetable oil, garlic, chilli flakes, and 1 teaspoon kosher salt.


Step 1

Refrigerate the prawns for 30–2 hours covered.  Heat a sauté pan on medium-high. Add the prawns in batches and heat for 1 minute per side until done. Serve the prawns on a platter.


Step 2

Mix sour cream, lime juice, and ½ teaspoon kosher salt in a small bowl. Pour sauce over prawns and serve with tortillas, radishes and avocado.
