Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup (180g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • Crushed candy canes or peppermint candies, for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  • Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Using parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, line a baking sheet with preparations.

 

  • The dry ingredients should be prepared by combining the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and whisking them together until they are thoroughly combined. Put aside for later.
