This recipe shows you how to make tasty egg rolls that you can cook in an air fryer. The egg rolls are filled with ground pork or chicken, shredded vegetables, and flavorful spices. Not only are these egg rolls simple to make, but you can also change them to suit your tastes. They can be a snack, an appetiser, or even a main dish. Serve them with a dipping sauce to make them taste even better.

Ingredients:

 

For the filling:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground pork or chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

For assembling the egg rolls:

  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing the egg rolls)
  • Cooking spray or oil for brushing the egg rolls

 

For the dipping sauce (optional):

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Filling:

  • Within a large skillet, bring the vegetable oil to a temperature of medium heat. While it is cooking, break the ground pork or chicken into small pieces with a spoon. Continue cooking until it has a browned appearance.
  • The shredded cabbage, carrots, garlic, and green onions should be added to the skillet. Cook for two to three minutes, or until the vegetables have become more tender.
  • The soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper should be stirred in at this point. Repeat the cooking process for an additional two to three minutes, then take the skillet off the heat and allow the filling to slightly cool.

 

Assemble the Egg Rolls:

  • A clean surface should be used to position an egg roll wrapper so that one corner is pointing in your direction, resembling a diamond. To fill the wrapper, place approximately two tablespoons of the filling in the middle of the wrapper.
  • The bottom corner of the wrapper should be folded over the filling, and then the sides should be folded in. A dab of beaten egg should be used to seal the edge of the roll as it is tightly rolled towards the top corner. Wrappers and filling should be repeated with the remaining wrappers.

 

Cook in the Air Fryer:

  • For five minutes, bring the temperature of your air fryer up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
  • Prepare the egg rolls by lightly brushing or spraying them with cooking oil. When placing them in the basket of the air fryer, make sure that they are not touching each other and that they are arranged in a single layer.
